Sonic Sings I Am Blue and Became Sonic Exe

Spike is a character created by Mari0_Bot and then given to SinnamonToasted. Based on the American portrayal of Sonic, Spike only retains the basic design, while having a varied personality and of course unique abilities. In his world, he fills the shoes of what would of been Sonic himself. Spike was created at an estimate somewhere around the end of December 2020.

Overview

This hedgehog was a 'previous' EXE that was successfully reformed into the character he is now today. He takes the role of Sonic in his universe, with an altered personality straying away from the cocky and snarky personality of the original. Kind, yet a little thick-skulled, he cares for others and knows what he's doing, even if he can get a bit lazy and self-centered at times. He now sports a Sonic blue shade with dark gray spots on his skin and quills and an American Sonic style mohawk. Of course this was not how he always use to be. Spike used to be a grayed out Sonic, lacking a mouth and having visible bags under his eyes. His hopes and dreams had been crushed. He would spend countless nights alone in a dark, decaying Green Hill Zone.

Biography

SEGA originally made him as an experiment to test how to portray Sonic in the Adventure games. However, SEGA did not like his personality, as it felt nothing like the Sonic they envisioned. They would throw out Spike's testing cartridge, efficiently scrapping him and leaving him to rot by himself. Due to this, Spike began to suffer from abandonment issues, as well as separation anxiety. Little did this hedgehog know, he had an unexplored world awaiting him with friends and family a-like to be met. His only companion in the beginning was none of than Doctor Eggman himself, this universes counterpart being a jolly fellow, he would tolerate Spike and his anger issues to a tone, and try to help the EXE get himself together, and gather his anger issues. Alone, this never worked. But it didn't stop the doctor from trying of course. Despite feeling alone, Spike would have occasional contact with a few other exes such as X-Terion and Mr. X. For the longest time, Terion was his only slight source of good influence along side Eggman. Mr. X on the other hand wasn't. Fueling Spikes depression more and anger, he didn't know how to manage much more, or vent it out. Along side this, thanks to the shenanigans of a playful Steve a bunch of Warp Rings would open up ALL around Spike's very own Mobius. How many? Who knows! It's still even in question to this day. But thanks to the actions of that silly hedgehog, Spike ended up with what he always wanted, what he could always ask for. Someone by his side. Out of one of those rings popped Tails from the canon Sonic universe, lost and confused, and absolutely dazed and ajar at where he was and why so many other Hedgehogs looked like his best friend. The fox of course, mistakenly took Spike for Sonic and Spike didn't hesitate to take Tails under his wing, though admittedly he didn't tell the fox he wasn't....HIS Sonic for the longest of times. Until the truth about it had came out one day, and the two tailed fox had understood the situation. He knew all along, and knew he was trapped in Spike's universe, with him and his friends. He knew things would be dangerous and not like his usual adventures he had. But he was absolutely up to it. He knew Spike had problems, from self deprecation and depression. Tails took pride in taking care of Spike and shaping him into the man he is today, showing the hedgehog that he absolutely DID matter, and it didn't matter if he was different, it didn't matter that he was an exe. He showed him he wasn't the monster he thought he was, the twisted evil thoughts that ate into his head. Tails was able to show Spike that he was more than what he made himself out to be. That he was Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog. Over the time Spike and Tails traveled together on many adventures, he had changed a good couple of times. From gray to dark blue, growing a mouth. Spike would begin to become blue just like the actual Sonic, having gray spots of spines and fur from his earlier colors before. He would sport wrist bands and scarves to become his own hedgehog and shape his own looks and even adjust his personality. The happier Spike had become, the more his true colors had began to shine. Tails had set this hedgehog on the path to becoming his own hero with his own name, in his own universe with his own friends. It turns out, all he needed was a good push and a best friend. Turns out a little love can come a long way. During the course of his adventures with Tails, he would discover Knuckles and the Master Emerald, his very own Amy who lives in Hill Top Zone, and of course learn about a certain red armadillo from Knuckles as well. Not only this, but Spike would soon discover his own Mobius was apart of a universe watched by a God of Destruction and his Angel, TD and Jex. He would come to learn TD was there to help Spike against the other various EXE threats such as Mr. X from causing havoc or even attempting to take over. Spike and TD would soon evolve into close friends, but constantly bash heads due to conflicting views, and down the line Spike himself would soon grow very found of Jex, and the two would end up in a relationship together and become happily married. Spike would also dig more into himself, and finding his own interests and hobbies such as singing. Taking local gigs at his very own Casino Night Zone and soon enough, helping Jex run their very own Soda Shop together. Spike is forever thankful to Eggman for trying to help him in the beginning and give him the push he needed to form his own life and identity, and because of this he is now surrounded by the love of his friends, and ventures on to be the Blue Blur himself, even if their characteristics are very different Spike still wants to be a hero....But maybe after a few naps and a smoke or two!

Abilities/Weakness

Abilities

Due to being based on Sonic himself, Spike has all the abilities that Sonic has. This includes incredible speed, strength, spindash, peel out, and more. In his exe form, Spike is able to create thorns on his arms and legs, being able to stab/penetrate opponents in combat with long stretchy limbs. Thanks to TD Spike is able to go Super without needing the Chaos Emeralds, as well as Hyper in very dire situations. Spike has control over his whole Mobius, as well as it's beings. Knuckles, Eggman, Metal, and all others aside from Tails can be modified or tampered with. This applies for zones as well, if something were to suffer severe damage or even become corrupted, Spike would be able to return it back to a normal state.

Weaknesses

Just like Sonic, Spike cannot swim, therefore water is a major weakness of his. He is still prone to be damaged by other hazards such as spikes, colliding with enemies, etc. Just like Classic Sonic, he can hold and lose rings as well. Spike is prone to being hard headed and getting very cocky, sometimes over his head if he thinks he can handle a situation alone, keeping to his 'Sonic' like image.

Trivia

Spike is canonically homosexual and pursuing a relationship with Jex. The two are happily married.
Spike is 31 years old, the same age as Sonic the Hedgehog 1.
Spike's headcanon voice is a slightly deeper Martin Burke from the Sonic OVA.
Spike is from SECTOR ONE, this being the universe TD watches over, and Spike's Mobius being the main planet he keeps a watchful eye on.
Just like original Sonic, Spike will not kill his foes, but if he is cornered and has nothing else to do. He will play that card. Even in his original state of mind before he reformed, he never caused harm or hurt. All he had been was just angry and depressed.
Spike smokes blunts to ease his anxiety and depression, he doesn't handle stress or discomfort very well.
Spike is also styled after the American design of Sonic, being more chubby and having the Mohawk.
Spike does not like to be addressed as 'Spike', but rather Sonic. He does not like to acknowledge he is an exe as well.
The gray patches all over Spike's body are remnants of his original gray form, marks that will never fully leave his skin and symbolize he is still, indeed and exe despite what he believes.
Spike wears his rainbow scarf as not only a replacement so Tails could keep his red one, but to symbolize his love for his partner.
Spike and TD bicker all the time, calling each other names and insults so much as it's become daily playful banter. Someone has to keep a thorn in the Gods side.
Due to having total control of his own planet, Spike makes sure every zone is okay and thriving with nature and beautiful outlooks. Eggman and Metal Sonic are also main helpers in this, making sure zones stay beautiful and watering zones and other small areas when they can, of course with Eggmans Badniks and other gadgets. Sometimes Metal will even fly on his own, spreading water and seeds throughout the planet to keep it lush and thriving. Spike's total view of Mobius is it should be the best it can be, and thriving with nature and wildlife as his outlook has totally changed and his planet reflects it.
